Templates, not tailored advice

Our Alberta agreement is drafted with reference to the Residential Tenancies Act, RSA 2004, c R-17.1, its regulations, and the Minimum Housing and Health Standards. The document is assembled from your answers, but we cannot know every fact about your tenancy. Unusual situations, such as rooming houses where the landlord shares living space, mobile home sites, social housing, or commercial use, may be governed by different rules and may need a lawyer's review.

Law changes

We monitor the legislation and update the templates, but laws, prescribed interest rates and standard notice periods can change. Confirm the current rules with Service Alberta or a lawyer before relying on any term, especially if time has passed since you generated the document.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for reading the completed agreement, making sure it reflects what the parties actually agreed, and having every party sign it. If a term of your agreement conflicts with the Act, the Act prevails.
